Limu Gener, Suntu, Ethiopia
Limu is situated within the Jimma zone in the western highlands of Oromia, Ethiopia. The area is famous for its forests where the Arabica coffee is said to originate from.
The area is heavily forested, has abundant natural water and hummus rich soil, creating an ideal condition for coffee cultivation.
Coffee Production in Limu
Traditionally, coffees marketed under Limu are all washed coffees. The unwashed coffees produced from this region is normally offered under the Jimma name.
With similar growing conditions and processing to both neighboring Yirgacheffe and Sidama, this washed coffee presents with similar fragrant floral notes. However, Limu coffee has a relatively milder acidity and richer body compared to coffees from its neighboring regions.
