Arabica accounts for about 60% of total coffee production in the world. Arabica naturally contains the least caffeine, but possesses the most desirable flavors compared to Robusta and Liberica. The top-producing countries for Arabica coffee are Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Honduras and Peru.
Although Arabica originated from Ethiopia, commercial production was actually started in Yemen. As such, Arabica can largely be grouped into two groups of varieties, or accessions, Yemen and Ethiopia/Sudan.
